Jan Shikshan Kendra (JSK) is a non-profit, non-political voluntary organization based in Ambedkar Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in the year 1996, JSK is dedicated to community empowerment and grassroots development through awareness generation, skill development, and active public participation.
JSK believes that true social change begins at the grassroots level. We emphasize the active involvement of local communities as the foundation for sustainable development. Through close partnerships and community engagement, we aim to serve as a bridge between national policies and local actions.
Operating directly with rural and marginalized populations, JSK designs and implements programmes that arise from the real needs of the community. Our initiatives are community-driven, and local members often participate in both planning and execution. This collaborative approach strengthens program effectiveness and fosters long-term support.
Our Approach
With over 19 years of grassroots experience, JSK has cultivated deep trust within the community—especially among illiterate and underserved groups who are often overlooked by mainstream government programs. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers possess intimate knowledge of local issues and social dynamics, enabling us to:
- Tailor programmes to local needs
- Effectively communicate government initiatives to the public
- Ensure maximum participation and positive outcomes
Recognition
In recognition of our ongoing contribution to rural development, JSK’s Director Pushpa Pal was nominated by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, in July 2017 as a member of the Central Council of the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Join us in our mission to empower communities, amplify unheard voices, and transform lives through inclusive and need-based development.
